00 — Overview

R11 reference application. Built from the v0.14 Work & Supply reference pack. The demo data is fictional; terms and values are illustrative.

What Warranty & Recovery is

Warranty is deliberately separate from Work Management: Work records the failure, repair and removed component; Warranty decides whether an entitlement exists, whether the failure is eligible, whether to claim, and what was recovered. Finance (SAP AP) owns the credit memo.

The 8 models

Coverage (3) - WarrantyPolicy — a supplier's or manufacturer's warranty for a catalogue item / model. - CoverageTerm — the rule: calendar, usage, whichever first / last; months, hours; what starts the clock (installation, receipt …); excluded failure modes. - WarrantyEntitlement — one unit's cover: from when and what usage, to when and what usage.

Candidates & claims (3) - WarrantyCandidate — a failure that might be covered: the unit, the work order, failure mode, usage at failure (and where that number came from), eligibility and the reason. - WarrantyClaim — the claim to the supplier: value, submission, response due, decision. - ClaimUsageSnapshot — the claim's own copy of the exposure figures it was submitted with, per metric (the component's exposure, the unit's reading at removal and its date, whether a correction applied). Written once as the claim is submitted and never changed; if Lifecycle later revises the figures, revised_exposure shows the new one and revision_flag says revised after submission so the claim can be reviewed. - WarrantyEvidence — what supports it: installation, usage, work history, photos, tests.

Recovery (2) - WarrantyRecovery — what the supplier gives back (credit, replacement, repair, labour …) and its state: approved → received / posted. - RepairCycle — a unit sent for repair / rebuild and its post-repair warranty.
